ABOUT Nenagh HALF MARATHON, 10km, 5km & kids Race

The Nenagh Half Marathon & 10km is one of Ireland’s early-season highlights on the running calendar. Taking place on Sunday, February 21st, 2027, this event offers runners of all levels the perfect opportunity to test themselves on a fast, scenic route supported by the warmth of the local community.

Organised by JustRace Events, the race is renowned for its smooth organisation, chip-timed results, and an atmosphere that brings runners back year after year. Whether you’re chasing a PB, preparing for a spring marathon, or simply enjoying the buzz of race day, Nenagh has something for everyone.

Race Day Schedule – Sunday

  • Start Time:
    8:30am – Nenagh 5K

    9:30am – Nenagh Half Marathon

    10:00am – Nenagh 10K

    12:30pm – Kids 2K Race

Race Number Collection

You can collect your race number and t-shirt at the following times:

  • Saturday (September 20th): 12:00pm – 5:00pm

  • Sunday (Race Morning): 7:00am – 8am

Please bring your confirmation email (or have your name handy) when collecting your number.

Parking Info

There will be ample parking available around the town on race day. However, please be aware that it is pay and display, so make sure you’ve either purchased a ticket or used the relevant parking app.

Water Stations

There will be three water stations along the course:

  • 5km

  • 11km

  • 17km

Water will be provided in small bottles, and waste bins will be placed shortly after each station — please help us keep Nenagh clean and beautiful.

Road Closures & Stewarding

We’re delighted to confirm that the Nenagh Half Marathon will take place on a fully closed-road course, allowing runners to enjoy the route in a safe and traffic-free environment.

We’re proud to have Nenagh Éire Óg GAA assisting with stewarding throughout the course, alongside the support of local Gardaí, helping to manage key junctions and ensure the safety of all participants.

The Course

The route takes runners from Nenagh out towards Toomevara before returning back to Nenagh, offering a fast and scenic course through the Tipperary countryside.

With the roads closed to traffic, runners can focus fully on their race, enjoy the atmosphere and take in every step of the journey back towards the finish line in Nenagh.

T-Shirts, Medals & Results

Every runner will receive a high-quality finisher medal, available at the finish line.

  • Arrive early – give yourself plenty of time for parking, number collection (if needed), and warm-up

  • Stick to the left – when running, especially on open roads
